The beginning of chapter twelve begins with the end of the battle between Ralph and Piggy’s gang and Jack’s army. Ralph comes back seriously injured in the fight. He comes back injured by a spear that Jack throw at him during the war they had about Piggy’s glasses. If Jack and his boys would have just asked for some of fire instead of stealing it they would have not had this fight.

i really think at this point when piggys glasses get stolen, is when there is a deffinent division between civilization and savagery. i agree with you that if jack and his boys would have just handled the situation in a civilized way, it defeinently wouldve ended differently and the boys would have got more useful things done.
